LINCOLN, Ill. — Brandon Sheppard won his third UMP DIRTcar Summernationals feature in a row on Sunday night at Lincoln Speedway, part of an action-packed three-division card at the quarter-mile oval.

Sheppard drove around race leader Kyle Bronson on lap 24 of the 40-lap main event and never trailed again, leading the remainder of the distance to capture a $5,000 winner’s share and his 14th-career Hell Tour win.

The win was Sheppard’s third at Lincoln in Hell Tour action, following similar wins in 2011 and 2015.

Only a caution on lap three, for a slowing Billy Moyer on the frontstretch, slowed Sheppard’s march during the main event.

Bronson came home as the runner-up, ahead of Chub Frank in third. Points leader Bobby Pierce rallied from 14th to fourth, with Tyler Erb rounding out the top five.
