CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Speed77 Radio/Race Chaser Online release — Empire Super Sprints & Curtis Berleue photos —
This week’s episode of Turn 5 Live is going to be a special one as Empire Super Sprints Hall of Famer Mal Lane will join the program at 7:45PM to discuss his latest racing plans- which includes becoming a USAC Sprint Car owner. Lane hasn’t owned a sprint car in over a decade, but now retired from the family-owned Yamaha business, is ready to tackle being a car owner once again.
Mal and wife Cindy attended the USAC event in Indiana this past weekend and will breakdown their trip and take aways from the event at “The Action Track”. We will even find out just how soon it will be before there is a sprint car chassis in the Lane garage, as it might be sooner than you think!
Derrick Podsiadlo will join Turn 5 at 8:30PM to talk about his upcoming season where he will race at Outlaw Speedway and Canandaigua Motorsports Park weekly. Podsiadlo has been a loyal supporter of racing in Dundee and we will get his perspective on everything that has transpired at Outlaw Speedway this offseason.
Steven, Clint and Brad will also mull over the dumpster fire that was Brett Hearn’s confusing decision to refuse tech after winning the Hard Clay Open. Hearn also competed in the Crate Sportsman event, prompting discussion of potential rule changes to keep Big Block drivers from racing in the Crate Sportsman division. Will the Turn 5 Live cast agree on this issue? You will have to tune in to find out and become a part of the discussion.
