Scott Heckert led an HScott Motorsports with Justin Marks sweep in NASCAR K&N Pro Series East qualifying Saturday at Bowman Gray Stadium.

Heckert earned his first Coors Light Pole Award of the season and fourth of his career, and will lead the NASCAR Hall of Fame 150 to green Saturday night.

Heckert’s No. 34 Project Lifesaver Chevrolet took the top spot with a lap of 14.445 seconds (62.305 mph) around the quarter-mile flat track.

His rookie teammates, JJ Haley, Dalton Sargeant and William Byron took the next three spots, while Rico Abreu qualified sixth.

Haley’s No. 5 Braun Auto Chevrolet was second fastest at 14.548 (61.864). Behind him, Byron — the championship points leader and Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate — is looking for his third win of the season.

Three of the four race NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race winners at Bowman Gray have started on the front row, including Ben Rhodes, who won last year driving for HScott Motorsports.

Austin Hill, who was second fastest in practice, qualified fifth.

Following Abreu, Jay Beasley, Kyle Benjamin, Gray Gaulding and Devon Amos rounded out the top 10.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame 150 is scheduled for 9 p.m.
