KNOXVILLE, Iowa — As if the 27th annual 360 Knoxville Nationals presented by Great Southern Bank needed any more star power, two top names from the NASCAR circuit have thrown their hats into the ring for the crown jewel event at Knoxville Raceway.

Retired three-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart and current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series points leader Christopher Bell have both filed entries for the annual classic for 360ci winged sprint cars, set for Aug. 3-5.

The duo will compete as teammates out of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing stable.

Stewart will attempt to qualify in on Thursday, Aug. 3 aboard the No. 14 Rush Truck Centers/Arctic Cat/Ford Performance/Curb Records sprinter, while Bell will do the same on Friday, Aug. 4 in the sister No. 14B entry.

Bell recently drove to victory in a Stewart-owned car during the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series’ Knight Before the Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway, also running from 20th to second in the Kings Royal finale the next night. He is a three-time winner on pavement with the Truck Series this season.

Stewart files his entry fresh off an Arctic Cat All Stars Circuit of Champions win at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on July 24.

Among the other drivers who have already filed entries for this year’s race are multi-time Knoxville Nationals runner-up Brian Brown, Tim Shaffer, 2001 World of Outlaws champion and four-time Nationals winner Danny Lasoski, Joey Saldana, defending 360 Nationals champion Sammy Swindell, defending All Stars titlist Chad Kemenah, Greg Hodnett, Tim Kaeding and Knoxville Raceway 410 points leader Ian Madsen.
